The Runner Cast Guide: Who Plays Maia, the Caller and Noah?

Meet The Runner cast: Gal Gadot as Maia, Damian Lewis as the Caller, Rory Wilmot as Noah, and what is still undisclosed about Alfred Enoch.

The Runner is not hiding a giant ensemble behind Gal Gadot. Ahead of release, four performers have been publicly named and only three character identities are clear. That compact setup matters: Maia Marten is the woman in motion, while the Caller controls the crisis from a distance and Noah is the reason she cannot stop.

Gal Gadot as Maia Marten

Gal Gadot plays Maia Marten, a sharp London corporate lawyer who is accustomed to staying ahead of everyone around her. One phone call changes the rules: her son has been taken, she must keep running and every attempt to seek help could put him in greater danger.

Maia is both the physical and emotional centre of the movie. Gadot has to sell the exhaustion of a sprint across streets, stations and Underground tunnels while also showing a lawyer trying to read the motive behind each command. The role is less about superhero control than watching control disappear one instruction at a time.

Damian Lewis as the Caller

Damian Lewis plays the Caller, the man directing Maia through her earpiece. Public cast material has not given him a conventional character name, but his function is unmistakable: he knows where Maia is, monitors her choices and uses Noah’s life to turn every decision into a threat.

The casting creates a deliberate split. Gadot carries the visible strain in public spaces; Lewis supplies the controlled pressure from a monitoring setup away from the chase. Their conflict can therefore feel intimate even when the two characters are not sharing the same room.

Rory Wilmot as Noah Marten

Rory Wilmot plays Noah Marten, Maia’s kidnapped son. Noah is not simply a name attached to the premise. He is the leverage that prevents Maia from abandoning the Caller’s rules, even when those rules begin to place other people at risk.

That relationship also gives the thriller its moral shape. Maia is not racing toward a prize or away from a pursuer; she is a parent being forced to calculate what she will do for her child while the Caller keeps narrowing her options.

Alfred Enoch’s character has not been disclosed

Alfred Enoch is part of the confirmed cast, but the available Prime Video listing and pre-release cast material do not name his character. Any more specific label would be guesswork, so the table keeps his role marked as undisclosed.

That missing identity is useful information in a story built around distrust. The marketing asks viewers to question anyone Maia encounters, but it does not yet establish whether Enoch plays an ally, a client, an investigator or another part of the trap.

How the four characters connect

  • Maia and Noah: mother and son; his abduction creates the rescue mission.
  • Maia and the Caller: protagonist and controller; he dictates her movement and punishes disobedience.
  • Noah and the Caller: hostage and captor; Noah’s safety is the Caller’s leverage.
  • Alfred Enoch’s character: confirmed to be in the film, but not safely placeable inside that relationship map before release.

This is an original standalone film, so there are no returning franchise roles, recasts or timeline questions to decode. The cast puzzle is about disclosure: three identities are known, one remains protected, and the story is designed to keep Maia unsure of whom she can trust.

Who directs and writes The Runner?

Kevin Macdonald directs The Runner, Mark Gibson wrote the screenplay and David Kosse is the producer. The Prime Video title page lists Gadot and Lewis as the principal stars, while the wider pre-release cast material adds Wilmot and Enoch.
