Mirzapur: The Movie Ending Explained: Who Fired?

Mirzapur: The Movie ends with Babban defeated, Beena shooting Birju and Guddu and Munna discovering they both love Sweety.

Mirzapur: The Movie ends with Kaleen Bhaiya rescued and Babban defeated, but the danger continues when Beena shoots Birju at the Tripathi mansion. The final cliffhanger arrives after the credits: Guddu and Munna discover they love the same woman, then the film cuts away on the sound of gunshots.

Quick answer: Babban is killed during the Jaisalmer showdown, while Kaleen, Guddu, Munna and Bablu survive. Birju later tries to kill Kaleen and Satyanand at the Tripathi mansion, but he is captured and Beena shoots him. The post-credits salon scene then turns Sweety into the trigger for Guddu and Munna’s next conflict without revealing who fires or whether anyone is hit.

Spoiler warning: This article reveals the climax and post-credits scene of Mirzapur: The Movie.

What happens in the Mirzapur: The Movie ending?

Babban’s bid for power reaches its breaking point in Jaisalmer. Kaleen Bhaiya is in danger, forcing Guddu, Munna and Bablu to fight on the same side instead of feeding the rivalry that usually defines them. Their temporary alliance works: they rescue Kaleen and stop Babban from taking control.

Babban is killed in the battle. That result leaves the Tripathi side standing and keeps Kaleen alive, but it does not restore a comfortable order. The alliance has removed the immediate challenger without resolving the rivalry inside Kaleen’s own camp.

The crucial point is that Guddu, Munna, Bablu and Kaleen all survive the main Jaisalmer confrontation. The victory preserves the volatile group, but it does not settle the danger waiting inside the Tripathi household.

Where does Mirzapur: The Movie fit in the timeline?

Mirzapur: The Movie takes place in 2018, between Episodes 6 and 7 of Mirzapur Season 1. That is why Munna, Bablu, Sweety and other characters who die later in the series are still alive here.

The film adds a previously unseen chapter to the established Season 1 timeline rather than bringing those characters back from the dead. Our Mirzapur: The Movie cast guide maps the returning and recast characters, while the theatrical release guide explains the big-screen framing. The September 3–9 theatrical roundup places its opening beside the week’s other Indian cinema releases.

The ending in five beats

What happens to Birju and Beena?

The Jaisalmer victory is not the end of the danger. Birju later enters the Tripathi mansion intending to kill Kaleen Bhaiya and Satyanand, but he is captured before he can complete his plan.

Beena then shoots her former lover herself. Her tears and Birju’s smile make the moment more complicated than a simple betrayal: the Tripathis are already prepared to kill him, while refusing to act could expose Beena’s role in the conspiracy. The film does not clearly confirm whether Birju dies from the shooting.

What happens in the post-credits salon scene?

The post-credits scene begins like a pressure release. Guddu and Munna are getting facials at a salon while Bablu sits nearby, busy on his phone. Bablu is texting Golu, which invites teasing about his love life. The conversation then shifts to Guddu.

Guddu admits that he loves someone. Munna does too. They decide to reveal the names together, turning a casual exchange into the film’s sharpest twist. Guddu says “Swaranjali,” while Munna says “Sweety.” They quickly realise they are talking about the same woman, Sweety Gupta, who sits at the centre of their romantic rivalry.

That recognition changes the room instantly. The easy mood disappears, the exchange escalates and gunshots are heard. Then the movie cuts away. No body is shown. No shooter is identified. Nothing on screen confirms that anyone in the salon is shot or killed.

Who fires the gun, and does Guddu die?

The film does not answer either question. Guddu survives the Jaisalmer climax and is alive when the salon scene begins. The later gunshots create a fresh cliffhanger, but sound alone is not proof that he is killed.

The same restraint applies to Munna and Bablu. The cut is designed to make viewers carry the rivalry beyond the final frame, not to provide a hidden death certificate. Any claim that names the shooter or victim goes further than the movie does.

What does the ending mean for Guddu and Munna?

The climax proves that Guddu and Munna can cooperate when Kaleen’s survival demands it. The post-credits scene immediately exposes how fragile that cooperation is. External enemies can force them into one camp, but the Sweety reveal brings their rivalry back into the room.

That is the ending’s real move. Babban’s defeat closes the public war, while the salon reveal opens a private one. The threat to Mirzapur no longer comes only from an outsider chasing the throne. It comes from two men who have just survived together and now have a reason to turn on each other.

The gunshots leave space for another film, but they do not confirm what that continuation will be or who will survive it. The safest conclusion is also the most satisfying one: the movie resolves Babban’s attack, keeps its central players in motion and uses Sweety to restart the rivalry at the exact moment the audience expects calm.
