Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen
Jason is the physicist whose abduction into an alternate life opened the series’ multiverse. Season 2 finds him back with his family, but safety does not cure his fixation on the Box. His need to understand and use it threatens the home he fought so hard to recover.
Jennifer Connelly as Daniela Dessen
Daniela is Jason’s wife and the emotional centre of the Dessen family. The new season pushes her growing paranoia to the brink as their apparently quiet life begins to crack. Her challenge is not simply believing Jason. It is deciding whether stability is still possible after everything the family has seen.
Oakes Fegley as Charlie
Charlie returns as Jason and Daniela’s son. He is hungry for a normal life while the danger surrounding his parents makes that increasingly difficult. His position inside the family gives the multiverse story a grounded cost: every new escape also takes him further from the stability he wants.
Alice Braga as Amanda Lucas
Season 2 pairs Amanda with Ryan in a desperate effort to find a way home. Their alliance gives the new chapter a parallel search beyond the Dessen family’s escape, with both characters trying to navigate the consequences of the Box.
Jimmi Simpson as Ryan Holder
Ryan joins Amanda in the search for a way home. Their alliance gives him a direct path back into the central multiverse plot and creates one of the season’s clearest parallel journeys outside the Dessen family’s storyline.
Amanda Brugel as Blair
Blair returns with a firm purpose: she is determined to stop Leighton. That puts her directly against the season’s most ambitious vision for the multiverse and gives their conflict a clear question of control.
Dayo Okeniyi as Leighton Vance
Leighton continues pursuing his grand idea of a perfect world. That goal sounds seductive, but the Box has repeatedly shown how quickly choice turns into obsession and control. Blair’s determination to stop him sets up a conflict over who should be allowed to shape reality.
Are there new cast members in Season 2?
Apple TV’s principal Season 2 cast announcement focuses on the seven returning performers above. Margo Martindale and Chris Diamantopoulos are among the guests announced for the companion podcast, but that does not by itself confirm them as actors in the new season. Their names should not be treated as Season 2 character casting without a separate credit.
